Mandalay Bay will host the UNLV boxing program’s inaugural Intercollegiate Invitational this Friday at 7 p.m. The competition features boxers from UNLV, Michigan, Lock Haven, Penn St, Cal, Air Force, and Nevada-Reno. The main event pits national champions Lawrence Tam (UNR) and Xenon Mallari (UNLV) in the 112-pound division. Tickets range $10-$25.

The Santa Anita Handicapping Contest winds up this week at Coast Resorts Race Books. The final two dates are Wednesday and Friday. Coasts has paid over $40,000 in prizes over the six weeks of the promotion. Entry fee is $5.

Boulder Station is holding its weekly basketball contest every Tuesday through Sunday. The $500 prize involves picking 10 games each week. There is no entry fee, but entries are limited to one per person.

The Palms is offering an Out Of The Money Handicapping Contest for horse racing. The prize pool is broken down on 60-30-10 percent pay for contestants finishing first, second and third respectively. Entry fee is $10 with no limit to the number of plays. Call 942-7777 for more details.
