Stealing a line from her hit, “Best thing that ever happened to me”¦” the greatest soul-singer of all time, Gladys Knight, has signed a one-year contract to perform at the world-renowned Flamingo Las Vegas beginning Tuesday, with performances five nights a week, Tuesday-Saturday. Knight, the all-media legend, has triumphed as an actress, songwriter and singer, as her career continues in an ascendant phase. Along her amazing journey, she has collected numerous awards, including Grammys, platinum and gold records. In 1998, she was inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame and in 1996, Gladys Knight & The Pips were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Gladys Knight & The Pips debuted their first album in 1960 when Gladys was just sixteen. Four decades of hits followed and ten songs reached No. 1 on the R&B charts, five became Top 20 pop hits and three were awarded Grammys. In all, 36 albums have touched our emotions, caused us to dream and made us dance. Gladys released her first solo album, Good Woman, in 1991 and her second, Just For You, in 1994. In 1995, Gladys received a star on the “Hollywood Walk of Fame.” An Atlanta native, she was invited to perform at the 1996 Summer Olympic Opening Ceremonies, where she sang the classic, Georgia on My Mind.
