GamingToday’s Road to the Triple Crown coverage got off to a smashing start as handicapper Richard Saber’s horse selections scored big in the first of several stepping stones to the Kentucky Derby. In the Fountain of Youth Stakes on Saturday (pictured above), Saber tabbed the winning trifecta of Booklet, Harlan’s Holiday and Blue Burner for a handsome payoff of $177. And on Sunday, Saber’s key selection of Repent in the Risen Star Stakes coupled to the place and show horses returned $94 for his trifecta box. In his regular daily selections, Saber’s “Quinella of the Day” scored in the first race at Santa Anita on Saturday, and his Best Bet at Golden Gate, Salish Basket, hit the board for a $7.20 winning payoff. On Sunday, Saber had three winners at Santa Anita, and four at Golden Gate, including his Best Bet, Woodfield, in the 7th race. Saber’s picks, along with NBA, NHL and NCAA selections, are available daily on the GT website, {}.
