Perhaps the most amazing story in casino gaming, Foxwoods Resort Casino, celebrates its 10th anniversary this month with a $10 million giveaway on March 10.

“The Foxwoods story has no equal in gaming history; it’s been a great 10 years,” said Bill Sherlock, president and CEO of the casino resort at Mashantucket, the ancestral home of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. “With the continued insight of the tribe and the dedication of our Foxwoods team members, we can look forward to providing many more years of world-class gaming entertainment for our loyal customers.”

As part of the 10th anniversary celebration, Foxwoods will reopen the Fox Theater, which has been refurbished over the past two months. The theater will have all new seats and a new design.

With Regis Philbin serving as celebrity host, Foxwoods will have a $10 million 10th Anniversary drawing on March 2.

Throughout the contest, 4,000 cash prizes will be given away, and some lucky patron could win the $10 million top prize.

In addition to gaming entertainment, Foxwoods has been a leader in offering Las Vegas-style headliner entertainment.

Frank Sinatra opened the 1,400-seat Fox Theater in 1993, and nine months later Pavarotti christened the casino’s 3,500-seat entertainment center.

Since then, Foxwoods has offered a wide variety of entertainment, from Jay Leno and Bill Cosby to Chicago the musical to celebrity icons Rod Stewart, David Copperfield, Barry Manilow, and B.B. King.
