UNLV’s Professional Development Center will offer a one-day seminar on Casino Public Relations on Saturday (March 2) from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Beam Hall, Room 219, on the university’s campus.

Conducting the seminar will be Ira David Sternberg, who will focus on the practice of public relations at the property as well as corporate level. Sternberg plans to cover topics that include promoting a theme, features and entertainment, creating the perception of a winning property and positioning the hotel-casino in a defined marketplace.

Among the seminar’s guest speakers are Phil Cooper, vice president of marketing for Greenspun Media Group; Rob Powers, vice president of communications for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority; and Jack Leone, vice president of marketing for Caesars Palace.

In addition to offering perspectives on practicing public relations at the property, the seminar will offer approaches to managing crises, positioning casino executives and integrating public relations with the advertising and marketing plans.
