It can actually pay you to be a cheapskate in Las Vegas and maybe even end up a big winner! Locals who cash their paychecks at the Palms on any Friday, between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. during the month of March will get a free $3 pull on a Megabucks machine. (Cashing your check after 8 p.m. on Fridays will get a free pull the following week.) With the jackpot at press time climbing to over $15 million, as the slogan goes, “One pull can change your life.” In addition, as a Club Palms slot club member, you still receive a Super Power Paycheck swipe for another chance at other cash and prizes, (someone won $10,000 just last week!) and a ticket to enter the monthly Hurricane Cash drawings too, for still another shot to win up to 10 grand.

In other paycheck cashing promotions, all six Station Casinos’ have a new Paycheck Bonanza Plus game. Cash your check anytime and get a free spin of the wheel for a chance to win cash, meals, bonus points, prizes or even possibly a new truck! Every spin includes a free drink automatically, but there is also another new feature for those who use direct deposit. Just show your direct deposit receipt and get a free domestic beer, well drink or a margarita on the house.

Both Fiestas’ (Henderson and Rancho,) are installing a new Paycheck Poker machine. They were not activated as of our last visit, but stay tuned for details. While it’s cool to get some additional freebies for cashing your paycheck at the casinos, we should all be reminded that self-discipline and control play an important role as well. Remember that you’ve got your whole paycheck with you!

Thursdays are Industry Nights at Texas Station. All drinks are $1 at the Armadillo, Splitz, and Whiskey Bars and they serve a 12-ounce NY Steak and a draft beer for $4.99 in the Texas Café. Texas has also added a new all-you-can-eat T-bone Steak Feast Buffet every Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. for $10.99.

A few new restaurant specials around town have come to our attention this week too.

The French Market restaurant at Bourbon Street serves a Steak and Lobster Tail special for $7.77 nightly from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Dinner includes an 8-ounce NY Steak, a 3-4 ounce small lobster tail, choice of potato and dinner rolls. You can add a salad or a cup of soup for $1 more. They also serve 16-ounce Miller Lite draft beer for $1 at the bar.

Terrible’s Casino Hotel is serving a complete 1/2 rotisserie chicken dinner this month for just $4.99. It’s available 24 hours and no coupon is needed. You can also redeem your slot club points for restaurant specials.

Finally, Don Miguel’s, Mexican restaurant at the Orleans, (W. Tropicana and Arville,) serves lunch specials with entrees priced from $4.95. Free warm chips and salsa are served with all meals.

Until next week”¦Eat well, play well, stay well.
