SANTA ANITA

TATES CREEK: Off since Del Mar meet ended last year. Was bet odds on. Players went numb when she stumbled at the start, broke outward, then was 3-4 wide entire trip. Won’t make any mistakes next time.

CALZADA KID: Maiden was much the best last time, going 11/16 miles, but ducked in past the eighth pole and was disqualified to second. Don’t miss this girl next out. Will win for fun.

NUNATALL: Between horses and three deep, had to wait off heels in midstretch then split rivals only to lose her punch. Can’t wait to see this girl entered again. Send it in.

GOLDEN GATE

PORTAGE LAKE: Was bumped hard at start and taken back to last. Commenced an inside rally in stretch but had too much to make up. With a little luck will pop up next time at a price.

LADY BUCCANEER: Well meant and responded to win at first asking, while overcoming trouble. Most of these young horses would have chucked it. Follow and cash.

SMART IN ART: Was taken way out of contention when last to the stretch. Made a huge move, but got bumped several times or actually may have won. With a little better ride will get there in next outing on turf.

AQUEDUCT

TIO CAVITO: Got trapped on the rail, had to wing 3-4 wide in lane and was outfinished. Look for a send job in next.

BRASS BO: Speed type that can’t seem to get the job done. Always a nice price, but seems to just miss. Result will be different next time with new trainer (Lake) and new jock. $ $.

GOLDEN FOIL: Was ridden like much the best and won like much the best.  Claimed out of that race by A. Iwinski. Will move up soon and repeat at 11/16 miles or longer.

GULFSTREAM

SIR BRIAN’S SWORD: Went one mile on the turf, was in traffic and steadied on backstretch and on the far turn. Ran third, losing by 3/4 of a length. With clean trip would have won for fun. Look for this guy at a mile or longer and get the cash.

P.M’s SNACK: Ran a courageous race at 19-1, going 11/16 miles. Had the lead at the quarter by a length, had to drop back to fifth, then came again to run second while best of rest. Don’t miss in next at another nice price.

DATE MORE MINORS: Made a five-wide run to reach contention, then was steadied hard. Recovered to close with a rush for the show. Mile or longer will get the cash.
