FLORIDA DERBY:

Booklet: Folded faster than yesterday’s newspaper after suicide pace. What was jock thinking? Absolutely, can not get Derby distance. OUT.

Harlans Holiday: Got perfect setup for his late kick and received perfect ride. Count him in”¦even though race lined up perfect. Never runs a bad race.

SWALE STAKES:

Ethan Man: Easy winner going seven furlongs at odds-on. Beat nothing. Will probably see him again at Bluegrass.

SAN FELIPE STAKES:

Siphonic: Put in a very disappointing effort. Out of derby (ankle).

Medaglia D’Oro: Frankel should get a gold medal for having this guy ready for the performance of the meet. Was passed by both Siphonic and USS Tinosa. Even Trevor D said he was through, but came back on and blew them both away. Wow is all I can say. Will see in Derby with good effort in the Wood. You just don’t see horses doing what he did, let alone a 3-year-old with only two previous 6-furlong races.

USS Tinosa: Looked like the winner, but could not hold off gold. Nice horse, very consistent.

GOTHAM STAKES:

Saarland: Was a well-beaten second. I’m very happy to say I hold no future book tickets on him.

Mayakovsky: Solid winner in what was only a two-horse race. No roses here.
