Looks like April will be showering us with another good month of cost-conscience dining specials, libations at liquidation prices and even some freebies!
Let’s start with a look at some Terrible’s specials beginning with their giant breakfast deal. The four eggs served with a ten-ounce ham steak, along with hash browns and toast for $3.99, may well be one of the biggest breakfast portions available anywhere in town. It’s a graveyard special only served nightly from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. A steak and eggs special is available too, at the same price and during the same hours. They also serve your choice of a 16 oz. T-bone Steak or Prime Rib complete dinner, (potato and vegetables included,) for just $7.99, and either of these specials are available 24 hours a day. Get in line!
The Hard Rock features a daily happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with two-for-ones on Margaritas and appetizers at the Pink Taco. They also have some excellent choices on “Twilight Specials,” served from 4 to 7 p.m. daily at Mr. Lucky’s 24/7 Coffee Shop. Priced at $5.95, you can choose a complete meal of an 8 oz. Prime Rib, a roasted half chicken, or a chicken pasta dish. All are served with sides and ÂÂÂsalads, but ask for dinner rolls. They don’t serve them automatically, but shouldn’t charge any extra for them either. Finally, for late-niters, “Boneyard Specials” are served in Mr. Lucky’s from 1 to 5 a.m. offering a variety of low-priced ($2.50-$4.95,) menu items, ÂÂÂincluding favorites like a breakfast steak and eggs, ÂÂÂdinner deals, or a heaping helping of strawberry shortcake for dessert.
For buffet ideas this month, try the Silverton on Thursday’s for their “Fresh-Mex Buffet,” for $9.99. Served from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Or visit the Orleans on any Monday evening for the $14.95 seafood buffet. You can include a full bottle of Eagle Canyon wine with your buffet for only $5 more. Your wine choices include Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonay, Merlot or White Zinfandel.
Rather just go for a few brews than eats? The Palms currently has Coors and Coors Light at all casino bars for $1 each, or Rattlesnake Ricky’s Lounge at Silverton serves the same beer brands for $1 on Mondays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and includes free live entertainment to boot.
The Fiesta Rancho has another free comedy show featuring stand-up comic, Tim Jones coming up on Friday, April 6. You can take your choice of a 7 or 9 p.m. show in Roxy’s Theater. Pick up tickets at the Amigo slot club booth during the week or prior to the shows. (NOTE: You may need to be a member to get tickets. If you’re not already a member, sign-up first. It’s free to join!)
One final note: The Plaza’s special 50-cent shrimp cocktail we mentioned last week? Fugettaboutit! It was discontinued on Sunday!
Until next week”¦ Eat well, play well, stay well.
