The start of a new month always brings about a new set of monthly casino promotions and April looks promising with some potentially great rewards for players. In January the casinos were jacket crazy and this month looks like scratch cards are the hot ticket.

The Orleans, Gold Coast and Suncoast will all be celebrating springtime with their “$1,000,000 Cash Scratch Fever” promotion. Players who hit a video poker royal flush, seven out of seven on video keno machines, or a top award slot jackpot, will be given a scratch card worth guaranteed cash from $25 to $1,000. Each scratch card will also include a drawing ticket for the $300,000 Grand Finale Drawings to be held at each location at the end of the month. A complete list of the rules and details are available in each casino. Please be sure to read them carefully as certain restrictions apply to coin denominations being played, as well as restrictions to multiple line poker machines. Keep in mind that many of Coast’s machines are now ticket-pays and will not lock up on a royal under $1,199. Therefore, don’t play it off until you have it verified by an attendant! Scratch cards may be won through April 30 and redeemed no later than May 1, 2002.

Sam’s Town gets in on the scratch action this month with a card given to all players hitting designated 4-of-a-kinds on video poker machines every Friday and Saturday in April. You must, of course, be a Prime Rewards club member and be playing with your card inserted at the time of winning. All scratch cards are a guaranteed winner of some form of cash, points or prizes.

The Fremont, downtown, has an interesting and rather unusual drawing promotion taking place over the next three months. One winner of each monthly “Slot Fantasy Fiesta” drawing will get a chance for a free (max-coin, loaded,) pull on every machine in the house. New slot club members will automatically receive one free drawing ticket and additional tickets can be earned by everyone for every 50 points accumulated on your account. The monthly drawings will be held on May 1, June 1, and July 1, and the best part of all is that you need not be present to win. They will even pick up your room cost to have you come back and play for your winnings if you’re one of the lucky drawing winners. The drum will be emptied after each month’s drawing.

For the coolest free bungee cord, (used to attach all your player’s cards together,) in Las Vegas, it’s got to be the Las ÂíVegas Club. It’s free when you join the slot club, or just ask for one if you’re already a member. It’s shaped like a slot machine with a pull handle that works!

As always, please remember”¦ “Luck seems to come to those who prepare for it!”
