Maloof adds three to Palms Resort executive family

Three executive appointments have been announced by George Maloof, chief executive officer of the Palms Casino Resort.

Tjeerd Brink is the new director of finance. He previously held posts with Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. (HET), the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and the Fremont Experience.

Henry Van Son has been named controller. He formerly was chief financial officer for CJ’s Slot Connection and Paul-Son Gaming Corporation (PSON).

Gordon Dixon is a casino host. His experience was earned at Caesars World Marketing as well as director of slot marketing for the Las Vegas Hilton and executive slot host for Bally’s Las Vegas.

Robert Jaynes and Tracy Teague have been promoted by Carl Icahn, operator of The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower; Arizona Charlie’s West and Arizona Charlie’s East.

Jaynes, a former winner of Gaming Today’s Battle of the Bookies, takes over the position of director of race and sports book operations at all three of Icahn’s properties. Teague will be director of network communications for the properties.

Valerie Moon has joined the Tropicana Resort & Casino as director of sales and marketing. She began with the Aztar Corp. (AZR) property after 25 years of marketing experience.

Tricia Cisneros has been promoted to director of employee benefits for the human resources department of Ameristar Casinos Inc. (ASCA). Prior to her promotion, Cisneros was benefits manager for the company.

Gordon Dickie has been named executive director of the Cabazon Gaming Commission in Indio, Cal. Other appointments included: Dave Gist, director of restaurant operations; John Cawley, advertising manager; and Frank Lewis, manager of information technology.
