Venetian promotes Cray

Michael Cray who has served as assistant shift manager at The Venetian Resort-Hotel-Casino for the past three years, has been promoted to director of table games.

Two new vice presidents have joined Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. (HET). They are Heath Daughtrey, vice president of information technology services, and Carol Malmstedt, vice president, internal audit.

Robert Sim has resigned as chairman of the board of Viva Gaming & Resorts Inc. (VIGA). The resignation came in the wake of the company’s failed effort to develop a system of video slots in Mexico. As a result of a court-upheld ban on the activity, Viva said it will take a $9.7 million charge during the current quarter because of a goodwill impairment charge and valuation write downs.

Charles F. Champion, former president and publisher of Access Magazine, an internet publication, has been named president and chief operating officer of Inc. (UBET). He joins David Marshall, chairman and CEO, in the recently reorganized executive staff of the company.

Ken Alber, vice president of The PENTA Building Group, has joined the board of directors of the Las Vegas Chapter of Associated General Contractors.
