The highly honored and widely acclaimed Tchaikovsky Perm
Ballet Theatre will make a limited appearance in Las Vegas on Tuesday and
Wednesday when they perform Prokofiev’s Cinderella at the Aladdin
Theatre for the Performing Arts. Performances are at 8 p.m. and doors open at 7
p.m. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children under 13. Tickets are
available at all Ticketmaster outlets and at the Aladdin Box Office (702)
The troupe consists of 125 dancers and performers
accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. They have toured the world receiving
accolades from Ireland, Austria, Switzerland and Japan, among others. They come
to Las Vegas directly from Russia.
The ballet company first performed in 1926 and is
considered one of the top three dance ensembles in Russia.
Their repertoire originally concentrated on the works of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, but over the years has grown to include a vast array of classical composers ranging from Chopin to Grieg. A good example of their diversity is the performance of Prokofiev’s Cinderella.
