Redemption or more misery awaits Minnesota, which will get
another crack at the Cleveland Indians this week. Minnesota got off to a 5-1
start before being swept by the Tribe in a four-game series last week at
Cleveland. The Twins host a three-game series beginning Friday night at the
Metrodome. The first game may be the best shot for the Twins, with Cleveland
playing a night game Thursday at Chicago. Minnesota had an afternoon contest at
Kansas City.
The best series next week in the NL looks to be in New York
when longtime rivals Atlanta and the Mets hook up for a three-game battle at
Shea. The Mets took two of three last week in Atlanta, highlighted by New
York’s nine-run uprising in the ninth against John Smoltz that broke up a 2-2
tie. Expect some more well-pitched games and probable UNDER results.
Another revenge series will be Tampa Bay at Detroit, with the Tigers looking to avenge losing the first three games of the season to the Devil Rays. Look for at least one Tiger win.
