Mayweather at MGM

Floyd Mayweather puts his unbeaten record on the line when  he opposes Jose Luis Castillo in a 12-found bout Saturday night for the WBC Lightweight title at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Mayweather (27-0, 20 KO) is considered among the best fighters in the world pound for pound. He is a whopping $5.00 favorite in the bout.

Castillo (45-4-1, 41 KO) is a $3.50 underdog. Stevie Johnston is featured in the 12-round undercard against Alejandro Gonzalez.

Mayweather hails from Grand Rapids, Mich., but now resides in Las Vegas.

De La Hoya-Vargas on

The scheduled fight between Oscar De La Hoya and Fernando Vargas has been rescheduled for Sept. 14 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

De La Hoya hasn’t fought since winning the 154-pound title from Javier Castillejo last June. The fight with Vargas had to be rescheduled from its original May 4 date when De La Hoya sustained a wrist injury.

De La Hoya is 34-2 with 27 knockouts. Vargas is 22-1 with 20 KO.
