Celebrated comedian Rita Rudner will "paint the town pink" in honor of her one-year anniversary on Friday. Sold-out nightly shows have led to performances seven nights a week and an expanded seating capacity of the theatre.
In a city of cabarets and production shows, Rudner is one of the few female headliners who has achieved success by keeping her clothes on. What began as a one-month booking at the MGM Grand in 2000 led to a permanent engagement at New York-New York’s $1.2 million Cabaret Theatre built exclusively for her.
In honor of Rudner’s success, New York-New York will celebrate with giant pink bows on the Brooklyn Bridge and a pink hue cast on the Empire State Building for the Friday anniversary. A special Rita Rudner themed slot machine will also be rolled out in conjunction with the anniversary.
Performances are scheduled Sunday through Thursday at 8 p.m. and Fridays at 9 p.m. Saturday performances are at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Reserved tickets are priced at $46 and can be purchased at the New York-New York Box Office at (702) 740-6815 or online at www.nynyhotelcasino.com.
