What else is cheap or perhaps even free this month? You may be aware that the World Series of Poker is under way at Binion’s Horseshoe downtown through mid May, featuring the largest stakes and best poker players from around the world. But did you also know that you can watch these masters of the game of poker at work for free from the peanut gallery? It can be quite a rush watching these players, especially when they near the final rounds! Go early mornings for a good viewing spot. Also, note that Binion’s old, downstairs coffee shop has re-opened.

Silverton celebrates "Dollar Days" this week through Friday, and that means lots of good cheap stuff for everyone, as long as you’re a Player’s Club member. (Free to join.) Start with a hearty breakfast buffet, (served from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.) for a buck, or make it two bucks for a bountiful lunch buffet (11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). Foot long hot dogs in the Deli are $1 anytime between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. and domestic bottled beers are also only $1 at any casino bar anytime. (The Deli also has a great "Strawberry Tallcake" available for $1 anytime! Not to miss!) And through the end of the month there are plenty of $1 blackjack tables available for low-stake gamblers.

The Suncoast in Summerlin is currently offering "Graveyard Bowling Specials" Sunday through Thursday nights from midnight to 6 a.m. Games are $1 each and drinks cost the same. There are hourly prize drawings and weekly cash prizes up to $100. There’s even a shot to win a new DVD player.

Over on the center Strip, the Imperial Palace is offering a new Prime Rib and Alaskan Crab Legs all-you-can-eat buffet for $11.99 in the Teahouse Room. Opens daily at 4 p.m. and includes a complimentary glass of wine and Yorkshire Pudding. Other Imperial Palace current specials include the all-you-can-eat Alaskan KING Crab Legs Feast served in the Seahouse every Friday beginning at 5 p.m. for $22.95, or a no-limit BBQ Beef Ribs special served for $13.99 on Saturday nights in the Rib House. (Also opens at 5 p.m.) Reservations are suggested for either the Seahouse or Rib House. Call 702-794-3261 or toll free at 888-777-7664.

Finally, for a great play on dinner and a show, check out the Greek Isles Hotel & Casino, (formerly Debbie Reynold’s place on Convention Center Drive near the Strip.) Purchase a show ticket to Sandy Hackett’s Comedy Club for $13.95, (plus tax and gratuity,) and get a Steak & Shrimp dinner for $1 more! (That’s NOT a typo!) The show promises to deliver top comics from around the country. Showtime is 9 p.m., seven nights a week. Reservations are recommended by calling 702-228-7591. They have a small newly re-modeled casino too.

Until next week”¦Eat well, play well, stay well.
