The country’s largest wine tasting event, UNLVino, attracted an enthusiastic crowd of more than 8,000 people last Saturday to Paris Las Vegas.

The annual event sponsored by Southern Wine & Spirits is the largest, single-day wine-tasting charitable event in the nation. Proceeds benefit UNLV’s William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration.

In addition to showcasing more than 100 wineries and 250 different types of wine, the event featured a wine auction, a cheese tasting and live entertainment featuring the legendary Paul Anka.

UNLVino is the brainchild of Southern Wine’s Larry Ruvo, who in 1974 sought a way to educate the public about wine. Since then, it has raised millions for UNLV.
