Orioles set to collect a Royal

Here are the games for the week ending Sunday, May 5.

Mariners at Yanks: Interesting series. Could be a preview of the AL pennant. Mariners with Jamie Moyer at the Stadium is one of our better plays no matter who Yanks send out to oppose him. Edge, even.

Angels at Jays: Anaheim is struggling, but the road may help them. It sure can’t hurt. Blue Jays hit well at home. Check totals before you invest in a side. Going OVER in game should Luke Prokopec and Jarrod Washburn hookup. Taking Kevin Appier over the world in another encounter. Edge, Angels.

Royals at Orioles: Looking at OVERS here. Going against red hot Paul Byrd of the Royals should he go in this series. Double play on OVER should Chris George and Scott Erickson meet. Edge, Orioles.

Rangers at Indians: Park and Rangers pitching staff beg to wager on the OVER. However, cold weather could keep the scoring down. Going with Kenny Rogers and ex-Indian Dave Burba to win from slumping Tribe. Edge, Rangers.

Red Sox at D-Rays: The Sox sweep and nothing less is expected. Double play on hot pitching arm of Derek Lowe. Edge, Red Sox.

A’s at White Sox: Two of the better hitting teams in the AL meet and runs should come easy. Going with Oakland’s Barry Zito in one of the games, and against Eric Hilgus in another. Edge, even.

Tigers at Twins: Detroit has picked up its play, while Minnesota has faltered of late. Waiting for game day for the matchup before making a move. Edge, Who knows?

Marlins at Brewers: The Brewers are getting fine pitching, but no hitting. That adds up to losses. Florida has been inconsistent, however playing in Milwaukee should brighten up the week. Going with Milwaukee rookie Nick Neugebauer, who has been pitching great but can’t win. Edge, Marlins.

Braves at Cards: Both teams have righted themselves lately. Should make for an interesting series. Greg Maddux will right himself here in one of the games. Tom Glavine should make it two of three. Edge, Braves.

Reds at Giants: The Giants are looking to turn the tables on Cincy after Reds destroyed them in their park. Barry Bonds is slumping. Giants pitching holding up, though. Livan Hernandez and Jason Schmidt win two. Edge, Giants.

Rockies at Phils: Scoring runs will be the name of the game in this series. Scott Erickson can win one for the Orioles, however the runs look very appealing. Take OVER.

Mets at Astros: The Mets pitching will be tested in this home-happy environment, however their bats should come alive. Sean Estes and Pedro Astacio take advantage of the hitting support and shut down Houston. Edge, Mets.

Pirates at Padres: The Padres stopped Pittsburgh cold in last visit to Pittsburgh. Can’t see the Pirates changing things around. San Diego is a solid threat to win the NL West. Brian Lawrence and Brent Tomko show the way by winning two more from the Bucs. Edge, Padres.

Expos at D’backs: Montreal will be tested in Arizona. However, the Expos are not a bad ballclub and can beat Arizona’s second line pitching. Going with Tony Armas Jr. over Rick Helling. Edge, D’backs.

Cubs at Dodgers: The Los Angeles pitching staff has been brilliant of late and Cubs have been slumping. Chicago keeps sliding and LA continues to win, especially when Daal and Nomo pitch. Edge, Dodgers.
