Lynn has been at the forefront of country music for 40 years and counting. The Grammy-winner recently released her first solo album of original material in over a decade, Still Country! Her hits date back to 1960, when the singer released Honky Tonk Girl, which became the first of many.
Lynn has received more awards than any other woman in country music, including 11 from the Academy of Country Music and nine from the Country Music Association. The first female to win CMA’s "Entertainer of the Year" award, she was also honored with their "Pioneer Award" in 1995 and "Artist of the Decade" for the 1970s. In 1985, she was named a "Living Legend" by both American Music Awards and Music City News. In 1996, she received a special "Living Legend Honor" form the Christian Country Music Association and, in 1997, she received the "Country Weekly Golden Pick."
