The Tampa Bay Derby turned out to be a bonanza for show bettors who shunned the favorite, War Pass, who ran out of the money. At odds of 1-9, there must have been "plungers" pumping up that show pool for the top finishers. Incidentally, I heard just before the race that War Pass had just shipped in and did not have a work over the track. And it showed. Our other picks in the race, 6-7-5, ran one, two, three so I hope you all had a piece of that pie.
We had just enough winners at Santa Anita to make it worthwhile, including Red Redding in the fifth race and Love Happens in the seventh.

There were heavy rains in Southern California (even some in Vegas!) so tread carefully with today’s card. The conditions may be hazardous to your bankroll.
Race 2: 5-9-10
Race 3: 2
Race 5: I like No. 2 here, coupled with 6-8-10
Race 7: No. 12 is my best bet of the afternoon, so I will key him to 6-9-10 in the trifecta, and single him in the first leg of the late Pick 3.
Race 8: 8-14
Race 9: 1-2-10
Race 5: 3-5-6
Race 6: No. 5 is my best play at Bay Meadows.
