Games for week ending June 2
Pirates at Cards: Going with Cards import Simontacchi with Marinara sauce in one game and Woody Williams in another.
Astros at Cubs: Houston is a bunch of under-achievers. Going with Mark Prior and Kerry Wood, the other half of the Kitty Corp to win a second.
Mets at Marlins: Florida lost two in NY, but will reverse that this week. Going with Josh Beckett and A.J. Burnett.
Expos at Phils: Montreal swept Phils at home. Going with Tomo Ohka and Javier Vazquez or Carl Pavano for Expos.
Braves at Reds: Favor Greg Maddux and Kevin Millwood to do Atlanta’s dirty work.
Brewers at Padres: SD now resides in West cellar. Favor Dennis Tankersley and Brian Tollberg to beat Brewers.
D’backs at Dodgers: World champ Arizona won two of three from LA at home, but a different here. Randy Johnson and Kevin Brown (if healthy) should hook up again. Favor LA to win at least two.
Rockies at Giants: Colorado swept San Francisco in Denver, but no such luck here. Jason Schmidt ready to turn things around and Russ Ortiz set to step up and give SF a lift.
Red Sox at Yanks: The NY pitching in disarray. We favor Pedro Martinez and Derek Lowe to extend Boston’s lead over the Yanks.
ChiSox at Indians: Cleveland will jump on White Sox pitching. Favor OVER in the totals.
A’s at D’Rays: Oakland reversed its bad play against hapless TB by sweeping in Bay Area. More of the same in Tampa with Zito, Hudson and Mulder doing the job.
Angels at Twins: Minnesota bouncing back after running into Yankees power. Favor Twins pitchers Eric Milton and Jeff Kinney.
Jays at Tigers: Like Tigers and solid pitching from Jeff Weaver and Mark Redman to take two wins.
M’s at Orioles: Baltimore has improved and will try to win two behind Scott Erickson and Calvin Maduro.
Royals at Rangers: Like KC to win series, with ace righty Paul Byrd getting one win for improving Royals.
