Rita Rudner has emerged as one of the most popular, endearing and talented performers in Las Vegas. Let’s go pull her slot handle.
"I always knew that I was either going to be a slot or a slut," Rudner said. "I’m glad that I turned out to be a slot."
Indeed, players are also glad Rudner’s likeness, quirky voice and charming female persona are showcased on a bank of slot machines at New York-New York.
The custom machines, Tickled Pink and Tickled American, are three-reel slots that are exclusive to New York-New York, which is home to Rudner’s ongoing comedy show in the Cabaret Theater.
In keeping with Rudner’s feminine ways, the machines also feature her signature pink color and original reel images of lipstick containers and nail polish.
"Besides being one of the world’s premier comedians, Rita Rudner is an integral part of the New York-New York experience," said Felix Rappaport, president and CEO of New York-New York. "The slots gave us an exciting opportunity to create a game that was as fun and personable as Rita herself."
In a city of cabarets and production shows, Rudner is one of the few female headliners who has achieved success by keeping her clothes on. What began as a one-month booking at the MGM Grand in 2000 has led to a permanent engagement at New York-New York across the street.
An accomplished actress, best-selling author and comedian, Rudner’s witty commentary on men and relationships has earned her national acclaim and awards that include Best Comedian in the Best of Las Vegas poll for the second straight year.
Rudner recently completed her third book and first novel entitled, "Tickled Pink," which has been lauded by critics and is currently in its third printing.
Shows are Sunday-Thursday at 8 p.m., Fridays at 9 p.m.; and 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Sunday.
