Quova, which provides Internet geolocation services to online businesses, has forged a partnership with WagerWorks, a leading Internet gaming provider. The agreement addresses the need for gaming operators to comply with country and state-specific regulations governing the online gaming industry.

WagerWorks has integrated Quova’s GeoPoint service into its suite of gaming services. The GeoPoint service allows WagerWorks customers to identify, in real-time, the location of would-be betters in order to comply with local laws.

Projected to become a $5 billion market by 2003, online gaming is illegal in some countries, including the United States.

"Our deal with Quova compliments WagerWorks’ strategy of providing the most comprehensive, compliant, online gaming solution,’’ said Paul Mathews, WagerWorks vice president of government affairs. "The opportunity to align WagerWorks’ product with Quova’s demonstrated capabilities is another component that will, with reasonable assurance, allow our licensed operators to meet or exceed online gaming compliance standards in fully regulated markets.’’

Quova’s GeoPoint service determines the location of Internet users by mapping the Internet infrastructure of over 4 billion IP addresses. The service was designed from the ground up specifically to meet the needs of the busiest Web sites and the most demanding applications.

"Complying with territory-specific laws can be a challenge for companies in regulated industries,’’ said Marie Alexander, Quova president and CEO. "We’re committed to working with industry leaders like WagerÂíWorks in order to help these companies bring their businesses online.’’

Founded in January 2000, Quova provides Internet infrastructure intelligence services to online businesses. Quova’s first service, GeoPoint, provides the geographic location of Web site visitors in real-time, enabling businesses to manage digital rights, target content, detect fraud, conduct site analysis and foster regulatory compliance.

With over 70 industry-leading customers and partners such as Amazon.com, CNET Networks, Real Networks and Visa International, Quova is a leader in the geolocation technology. A privately owned company with investments from VeriSign, Mobius Venture Capital (formerly SOFTBANK Venture Capital), IDG Ventures, Nexus Group, and Fidelity Ventures, Quova’s main headquarters are located in Redwood City, California, with European headquarters located in Amsterdam.
