Casino players looking for new games to conquer should drop by the Tropicana Resort & Casino. This month the Trop signed the divine diva of ”˜Xs and O’s "Ginger" to an exclusive one-year deal starring in the new "$10,000 Chicken Challenge."

Ginger made her Las Vegas debut on June 12, 2002, when this fine-feathered friend went head-to-head with celebrity Phyllis Diller to kick off the brand new game. Tropicana guests were treated to a thrilling game of tic-tac-toe for the chance to pluck the $10,000 cash prize.

Prior to the contest, Ginger was flown in by helicopter, carried by chariot onto the casino floor and greeted with showgirls and a polka band.

The "$10,000 Chicken Challenge" at the Tropicana is the only place on the Las Vegas Strip to see and play this classic game of chance with a live chicken.

The Chicken Challenge is the brainchild of Aztar Corporation, which debuted the promotion last year at the Tropicana in Atlantic City. According to casino officials, there were five winners (at $10,000 each) who managed to beat Ginger at her own game.

Born to humble beginnings on a small Arkansas farm, Ginger topped the pecking order of her craft and scratched and clawed her way to become the latest Las Vegas headliner.

Ginger’s performances are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily with no dark dates. The promotion is open to the public; no purchase or play is required to participate. Winners Club membership is required and patrons who are not Winners Club members can join for free. Participation is limited to one play per person, per day for the duration of the promotion.

The "$10,000 Chicken Challenge" is scheduled to run through May 31, 2003 at the Tropicana Resort & Casino, Âílocated at Tropicana Avenue and the Las Vegas Strip.
