Two-time Oscar winner Dustin Hoffman was honored at the recently-concluded CineVegas International Film Festival with its inaugural Marquee Award. The award was presented in a ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel on Saturday.

"The Marquee Award was designed to honor an actor who has an impressive body of work in both the independent and mainstream film genres," said L. Mimosa Jones CEO of Entertainment Development Corporation/CineVegas. "Dustin Hoffman is the perfect actor to receive the inaugural Marquee Award because he was making independent films before people thought of them as ”˜independent films.’ His work defined what future independent filmmakers would create."

In addition to accepting the award, Hoffman recalled his Oscar-winning role in "Rain Man" by participating in a Celebrity Blackjack Tournament on Saturday at the Palm Hotel. Joining him was his wife, Lisa, and other celebrities that included Elliott Gould, Bai Ling, Mars Callahan, Robert Forster, Anson Mount, Michael Rosenbaum and Gianni Russo.

The five-day film festival included film screenings, award ceremonies and critical analysis from recognized film critics.

Vegas.com’s CineVegas International Film Festival, presented by Las Vegas Events, Greenspun Media Group and the Entertainment Development Corporation of Las Vegas, is an international experience in film culture.
