IGT unveils new Quartermania games

Jun 24, 2002 10:18 PM

Two new Quartermania slots from IGT are adding plenty of zip to the popular progressive games. The Triple Texas Tea slot”” based on the Texas Tea video game ”” and the Diablo Diamond game feature some new technological wizardry that casino players notice.

Both games feature an exciting new three-reel design (on the IGT S2000 Series platform) in the top box, where all of the bonus action takes place. Backlit reels in the top box and the base game, and theme oriented music and sounds add a fun new spin on traditional spinning reel game play.

New animated action on the vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) makes it a more integral part of game play. Game characters appear on the VFD to walk the player through the bonus, and the VFD helps players keep track of their winnings as the bonus proceeds.

The Triple Texas Tea game is a 3-reel, 3-line game based on the popular Triple Diamond slot game, with the Triple Texas Tea, MiniMania and QuarterMania symbols acting as the 3X multipliers. These symbols even multiply the bonus winnings if one lands on the same payline as the bonus initiator.

Players’ eyes are glued to the top box when a Triple Texas Tea Bonus symbol lands on any played line. The reels contain bonus values and spin at random, one at a time. When a reel stops on a value, that value is added to the Bonus Win meter. After a random number of spins, the credits are paid and one of the reels becomes inactive. The remaining reels continue their random spins until all three have stopped, ending the bonus. Texas Ted announces each win amount, as well as the grand total win.

The Diablo Diamond game features a new 3-reel, 3-line take on the classic Double Diamond slot, with the Double Diablo, MiniMania and QuarterMania symbols functioning as 2X multipliers. The bonus action starts when one Diablo Diamond Bonus symbol lands on any played line. The action shifts to the top box with its three bonus reels. When a reel stops on a value, that value is added to the Bonus Win meter. When a reel stops on a diamond, five credits are paid and the reel becomes inactive. The remaining reels continue their random spins until all three have stopped on a diamond, ending the bonus. If the reels spin 30 times before all three have stopped, the player wins a big jackpot.

Both games are available in stand-alone versions, or linked to a new and improved Quartermania system (progressives are not available in all jurisdictions). The linked game offers players the opportunity to win a MiniMania jackpot of at least $2,000 when three MiniMania symbols land on the third payline with a maximum wager. Players also have the chance to win a Quartermania jackpot of at least $200,000 when three Quartermania symbols line up.
