In this expanded edition of "Bingo Buzz," we’ll look at the hot Bingo promotions and specials, monthly giveaways and dates, news on Bingo progressives, and some Bingo parlors that may be getting overlooked, when they shouldn’t be!

Giveaways in Bingo are always a big attraction and motivation to entice players. Most often, giveaway days are holidays, when more people can attend the sessions. With the only major holiday in July being Independence Day, the casinos’ marketing departments have found ways to "expand" the holiday and create new special giveaway days and promotions, too.

Here’s a rundown on the top gift giveaways for the remainder of June and into July:

Station Casino’s: (Palace, Boulder, Texas, Sunset and Santa Fe) Today, June 25, all five Bingo rooms will be celebrating the one year anniversary of their Jumbo Bingo Progressive game (linked among all five Stations), with free cake served all day at all sessions. To sweeten the pot, the regular $1,199 consolation prize will be increased to $3,000, and will be offered at every session too!

Both Station and Fiesta players will receive special holiday daubers as a free gift on the Fourth of July. Dauber bags will be given at Fiestas on Friday, July 5, and at Stations on Saturday, July 6. Gifts will be available at all sessions, while supplies last. One gift per person, per session, with a minimum buy-in. That admonition applies for almost all bingo giveaways, wherever you may play.

Sam’s Town has selected Thursday, June 27 as "A good day for a giveaway," according to Bingo Manager Marie Zorne. All players will receive a tool kit as a gift at all sessions. On the Fourth of July, players can look forward to a unique all-American stars and stripes dauber as a special gift.

Arizona Charlie’s West will also be giving away special holiday daubers on the Fourth and Las Vegas’ newest Bingo hall at Arizona Charlie’s East, will be passing out visor caps as a gift on the same day. Charlie’s has also recently added first, second and third chance coveralls for $1,000 each at the 9 p.m. sessions nightly.

The Suncoast and Gold Coast each have collectible American stuffed bears as a gift on Independence Day. Play several sessions and you’ll be able to collect all three different styles. On Friday, July 5, you can pick up yet another free gift dauber, with an Uncle Sam theme. Both rooms will be paying double Bingo points (Club Denaro slot club) during June and July at all games too.

For those looking for bigger Bingo thrills and the lure of gigantic jackpots, three of the more popular progressive games can be found at Sam’s Town, Fiestas and Stations. Progressive games such as these offer a high starting jackpot and continue to increase until they are won. The game is normally a coverall and needs to be hit within a certain number, usually starting around 46 to 48 numbers or less, to win the jackpot. If the jackpot isn’t hit within a particular week, the number goes up by one, for example to 49 numbers or less to win it the following week. They usually continue to add one number each week until someone snags the big prize. (Stations reports that their $100,000 plus jackpot hits approximately once every 17 days!) While the jackpots rise, all players who participate are adding to the pot with a percentage of their buy-in for the game.

Sam’s Town "Even Bettor" Progressive begins at $20,000 for 48 numbers or less and increases by one number each week until won. Note: This is an individual one-room jackpot. Some others, while offering a higher starting jackpot, are "linked" with their "sister" properties and you may be competing with as many as 2,000 people at a time.

Fiestas calls their progressive game, "Grande Bingo." This game features a linked progressive jackpot that begins at $25,000 and increases daily. In addition to the gigantic progressive jackpot, there is a $400 consolation prize paid out every day and at every session if the progressive jackpot is not hit, for a total of $3,200 per day in consolation prizes. Grande Bingo is played simultaneously at both Fiesta properties. The first game of every Bingo session is the Grande Bingo Progressive coverall. The cost for Grande Bingo is $1 per card and players may play as many cards as they choose. The pre-determined starting number begins at 46 or less to win the jackpot and increases by one number each week.

The grand-daddy of them all is at Stations, with a five-way linked progressive beginning at $100,000! Cost to play is $1 and the starting point is 46 numbers or less, again adding one number per week until hit. Consolation prizes are good too, possibly as much as $5,000 within certain numbers, but always at least $1,199.

Finally, who wouldn’t mind playing free Bingo twice a week with a chance to pick up $50 per game? That’s right! You can actually play Bingo for FREE at 4 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday at the Westward Ho! Eight games are played at each session in the upstairs ballroom. A $50 jackpot is paid out on each game; it costs nothing to play, and locals as well as tourists are welcome to attend.

Until next week”¦ may you all shout”¦ "B-I-N-G-O!"
