On the Cheap by H Scot Krause | MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas Resort will play host to an Easter Festival on Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Festival is free with just a nominal charge for some events.
Live entertainment and animation will be provided at MonteLago Village. Easter Dinner/Brunch specials will be available at The Ritz-Carlton, Loews, Bistro Zinc, Comos, Luna Rossa, Casino MonteLago, Sonrisa Grill, and Sunset & Vines.
There will be a petting zoo and pony rides in MonteLago Village and children can meet the Easter Bunny and hunt for Easter eggs. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. A petting zoo and pony rides will be available on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. ($2 per child.)
The Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Sunday (11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.) There is limited space in each hunt. Cost will be $3 per child per Easter egg hunt. A live DJ will perform and giveaways will be held throughout each day.
Café Positano will be hosting drawings for a boy and girl gift basket. Each child will have an opportunity to enter in the drawing with any Kids Meal purchase. The drawing will be held at 2 p.m. in the Events Plaza. You do not have to be present to win!
Ellis Island Casino & Brewery always features a holiday favorite meal. On Easter Sunday, a complete Rack of Lamb Dinner will be offered for only $16.99 per person, served in the restaurant from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The special dinner includes soup or salad and a holiday dessert.
Many Las Vegas casinos will be offering an Easter Brunch this Sunday, including Seasons Buffet inside Silverton Casino Lodge. Citrus rotisserie chicken, roasted turkey with apple-sausage stuffing and grilled lamb chops with rosemary, roasted garlic and honey glaze are traditional favorites. Shrimp bisque and Thai coconut lemon grass chicken will be available at the soup station.
Seasons Buffet’s breakfast pizza comes in many forms including sausage, egg and Swiss cheese, apple cinnamon with strudel or bacon and mushroom. For the seafood lovers, snow crab legs, shrimp cocktail, stuffed crab, seafood cioppino, steamed crab legs with drawn butter, bay scallops and assorted sushi will be available.
At the carving station, guests can choose from honey glazed ham, Montreal rub crusted prime rib of beef and juniper-maple smoked salmon. Patrons craving lighter fare can stop at the salad station for wild rice with dried fruits and nuts, antipasti, a smoked seafood platter with cream cheese, asparagus with prosciutto and red peppers and oil cured olives.
Seasons Buffet’s special dessert menu will feature hot cross buns, chocolate covered strawberries and assorted muffins, pastries, cookies and cakes. The Easter menu is $19.95 per person and only available on Easter day, Sunday, March 23 from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
