Hitmaker Kenny Loggins is set to perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Green Valley Ranch Station Casino’s Whiskey Sky Amphitheater. For ticket information, call (702) 617-7777.

The man who produced the Grammy-nominated Return to Pooh Corner and the more recent, More Songs from Pooh Corner has created award-winning albums for 25 years. He began his career as a staff (song) writer in a Los Angeles music publishing company. Loggins penned several songs that were used on a 1970 Nitty Gritty Dirt Band album, including House at Pooh Corner. He teamed with Jim Messina in the early 1970’s and recorded several successful albums and songs including Danny’s Song and Your Mama Don’t Dance.

As a solo artist, he recorded such acclaimed work as Celebrate Me Home and Keep the Fire. His jump to superstardom came with songs he wrote for soundtracks. Anyone who saw Caddyshack smiles at I’m Alright, and gets downright giddy when Footloose is played. He also scored big with Danger Zone from Top Gun.

An environmentalist at heart, Loggins hosted a documentary for TBS called The Song of the Wolf about the congressional mandate to re-introduce the Mexican wolf in the American Southwest.

Loggins received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000 and was honored by the Hollywood Film Festival with its first Songwriter Award. He has kept busy with a Christmas album and the two Pooh releases.
