Bill Doak, who left Las Vegas after having established a reputation as a capable, effective and successful gaming publicist, has returned two years later as a partner in Kirvin Communications Group. The company will now be known as Kirvin Doak Communications

Doak spent several years as director of public relations and promotions for MGM Grand Hotel/Casino and played a major role in transforming the property’s MGM Grand Garden events into the "City of Entertainment." He moved on to become director of marketing for Mandalay Bay Resort/Casino, opening that property and guiding it through its first year.

When Doak left Las Vegas two years ago, he became U.S. marketing director for DHL Worldwide Express in San Francisco.

Holding top spot among Las Vegas’ independent public relations firms, Kirvin Communications Group numbers among its clients MGM MIRAGE Inc., Mandalay Bay, Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining, Tiffany & Co., and M&M’s World. The firm also represents entertainment clients including Rita Rudner, Cirque du Soleil, Carrot Top, Clint Holmes and The Amazing Johnathan.

Martha Vicek has resigned as chief financial officer of PDS Gaming Corporation to pursue other interests. The company has begun a search for her successor.

Richard J. Glasier, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Royal Caribbean Cruises (RCL), is leaving that post to become president of Argosy Gaming Company (AGY). In his absence, Bonnie Biumi, vice president and treasurer of Royal Caribbean Cruises, will serve as acting CFO.
