Alliance promotes execs

Two promotions have been announced by Alliance Gaming corp. (ALLY) to fill positions in their casino operations.

Chris Scott was named vice president of the Casino Group and president of both operating subsidiaries: Rainbow Casino in Vicksburg, Miss., and Rail City Casino in Sparks, Nev.

Scott has been vice president and general manager of the Rail City Casino since joining the company in 1997. Succeeding him at the Rail City Casino will be Teri Grandfield, the new senior vice president and general manager of the property.

At Ameristar Casinos Inc. (ASCA), Tom Malone has been promoted to vice president/controller. He will be reporting to CFO Tom Steinbauer. Previously, Malone served as director of internal audits.

Chuck Brooke, who began his career with Video Lottery Technologies, has been promoted to vice president for government relations at International Game Technology (IGT). He moved from VLT to Anchor Gaming when the latter acquired VLT. And, in a similar move, he joined IGT when it acquired Anchor Gaming.

James R. Hurley has retired after spending more than 12 years with the N.J. Casino Control Commission.
