Shuffle Master Inc. (SHFL) announced last week that its new themed games — Hollywood and Spider-Man — have been approved by Gaming Labs International. This will facilitate local approvals in such jurisdictions as California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota and Missouri.

The company said the new games will be available as either new machines or as upgrade kits to existing machines. Also, it was expected that shipments of both titles would begin immediately and that between 50 and 100 units will be shipped.

"The GLI approvals represent a significant event for the company in that we can accelerate the process of commercializing our exciting new technology," remarked Mark Yoseloff, company chairman and CEO.

"Along with the Hollywood and Spider-Man, we look forward to capitalizing on our robust portfolio of slot licenses with the introduction of such titles as Budweiser, Rubik’s Cube, Laurel and Hardy and Bigfoot within the next few months," he said.
