Ellis Island Casino and Brewery has a great deal for casino workers this month. If you are employed in the industry just show your identification anytime 24/7 and drink for free. Appetizers for casino workers are half price, too!

Once a month, Ellis Island also has a monthly "Street Party." The Summer Picnic event this month will be held on Saturday, August 17. Anyone over 21 is invited to attend and for $10 you can eat and drink all day, from noon until 10 p.m. Barbecue foods like chicken and ribs are favorites at the parties, plus hamburgers, hot dogs and side dishes, along with all of the Ellis Island Brewery Beer you can safely handle.

The party is held in Celebration Square and continues out to the patio where guests can enjoy the outdoor refreshing mist system. Partygoers can even stop by early in the day, get a wristband and come back later in the evening at no extra charge! Regular Ellis casino players will also enjoy the six times points offered on the party day and drawings for a chance to win slot club points.

Speaking of parties, Wildfire Casino has an outdoor patio party every Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The admission is $2 for ladies and $5 for guys and that includes two free drinks and free appetizers. Live music and cash prizes are also part of the fanfare.

The final Pool Parties of the summer for the Orleans and Suncoast will be held Tuesday, August 27 (Orleans,) and Wednesday, August 28 (Suncoast.) Tickets are the same price as Wildfire, with similar amenities, but a little more grandiose. The three-hour parties begin around 7 p.m.

For yet another free party, mark your calendar for Friday, August 23 to attend Boulder Station’s 8th Anniversary Party. Free cake and champagne will be flowing throughout the casino from noon to 8 p.m.

Also at any Station Casino, "Heroes" receive a free Feast breakfast, lunch or dinner buffet on the third Tuesday of every month. For this month, that means, Tuesday, August 20. "Heroes" includes firefighters, police, nurses, EMT workers, medical technology workers, teachers and veterans. Just present a proper identification and enjoy a meal on them!

Finally this week, for more of those delightful graveyard specials everyone looks forward to here in Las Vegas, try the Opera House in North Las Vegas. Four breakfast selections for a buck and a half apiece are available nightly from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Take your choice of pancakes, corned beef hash, biscuits and gravy, or ham and eggs.

Until next week... "Eat well, play well, stay well."
