Tom Lucas has been named vice president for advertising and brand development at Park Place Entertainment Corporation (PPE).
Well-known throughout the entertainment industry, Lucas leaves his post as senior vice president of marketing for the Fox Family Channels. He also has held executive positions with The Travel Channel and The Travel Channel On-Line, owned by Discovery/Landmark Communications.
In making the announcement Wally Barr, Park Place COO, said, "As we accelerate our efforts to differentiate Park Place brands from the competition. Tom will be a very valuable asset to the company."
Montie Deer, chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission, has left his post to accept a position at the University of Tulsa Law School. Deer is a member of the Muscogee Creek Tribe. His departure leaves the commission with only one member, Teresa Poust.
Stanford Blandford, whose experience has been primarily with offshore casinos, has been named chief technology officer for i2corp.com that recently relocated its business offices to Solvang, Cal., from Las Vegas, Nev.
