Games for week ending Sept. 23.
Dolphins 26, Jets 14: New York was lucky to escape with a win over Buffalo. Dolphins are no great shakes, though. Jets seem to have their number. Worm turns Miami’s way. Lay the 6.
Panthers 20, Vikes 17: Looks like Minny is headed for another bad season. No way this outfit can turn things around. They need a new head coach. Panthers +5Â½ is juicy.
Eagles 24, Cowboys 13: Dallas pulled out all the stops against Tennessee. Eagles are a different cup of team. Philly covers 7Â½.
Pats 27, Chiefs 17: One by one, the Pats turn on their tormentors from the past. KC is next. Pats minus points works.
Colts 38, Texans 17: Indy runs into a team it can handle. Texans a few years away. Colts will score enough to cover 13.
Browns 23, Titans 20: Tennessee fails to impress, while Browns should be unbeaten instead of 1-1. Getting 5Â½ is extra sweet.
Saints 24, Bears 23: Chicago’s luck runs out here. This time Bears are on the short end. Saints O hitting on all cylinders. Take New Orleans +3Â½.
Broncos 27, Bills 24: Denver played game of its life against Niners. Could be laid back here. Buffalo playing with lots of fire. Bills good at +9.
Cards 20, Chargers 16: San Diego is 2-0 and atop the NFC West, but that won’t last long. Arizona is a spirited group. Jury still out on QB Brees. Take Cards +1. Won’t need it.
Niners 24, Redskins 14: San Fran should be motivated. Skins rubbed it in earlier in preseason. Niners better stop reading their press clippings. Lay the 6.
Giants 27, Seahawks 10: No matter the QB, Seattle is no threat to opponents’ end zone. Giants are much improved on offense. NY —6Â½ is the play.
Packers 34, Lions 17: Detroit as inept as ever. Green Bay no great shakes indoors, but have more than enough for this sorry crew. Give the 7Â½.
Falcons 31, Bengals 13: Cincy can’t win for losing. Atlanta a cut above Bengals at this stage. Lay the 7 points.
Bucs 23, Rams 17: St. Louis has been exposed by the Patriots defensive scheme. Bucs may have some offense to go with their D. Take Bucs +3.
