Staying unbeaten is Chief concern for Dolphins

Games for week ending Monday, Sept. 30.

Chiefs 24, Dolphins 20: The Dolphins will have to contend with running of Priest Holmes and passing of Trent Green. TE Tony Gonzalez should be healthy for this affair. Chiefs +3½ is a bargain.

Bills 27, Bears 20: The Bears blew a 20-point lead against Saints. Bills offense can give stodgy Bears a workout. QB Drew Bledsoe is in top notch form. Take Bills and give 3.

Lions 27, Saints 20: The Saints got away with one against Chicago. Lions will handle this crew and notch first victory. QB Joey Harrington will exploit Saints secondary. Lions +7½ looks good.

Packers 27, Panthers 23: Carolina printing Super Bowl tickets, but hit a bump in the road trying to beat the Packers in Green Bay. The Panthers come close, but no cigar. Panthers +7 or 7½ softens the blow.

Jaguars 24, Jets 17: The Jets offense has hit the wall. Feeling here is Jets will start Chad Pennington at QB to turn things around. Jags —3½ get the bread.

Eagles 24, Texans 7: Eagles probably could name the score. However, giving 21 points is not my cup of tea. Against better judgment, Texans +21 is selection.

Browns 20, Steelers 17: Going against Steelers until they prove otherwise. Bettis not running with abandon, which makes QB Kordell Stewart less than ordinary. Browns +5 added gravy.

Rams 31, Cowboys 13: The Rams are not performing well at all. However, Cowboys are no threat, especially on the carpet and indoors. Great spot for Rams to put their game together. Rams —14, though high, is our selection.

Giants 23, Cards 17: Arizona not very good, but Giants defense comes to the front. Take Giants and give 3.

Bengals 17, Bucs 13: Time for Bengals to put things in gear. Tampa Bay could be looking past this game and thinking about Atlanta. Bengals +points is the selection.

Raiders 27, Titans 17: Oakland is all rested for this game. Old men need a break. Raiders should have a picnic against this inept crew. Raiders giving 5 should be easy.

Seahawks 24, Vikes 13: Minnesota in disarray with a good chance to go winless in 2002. Wouldn’t want to bet against that proposition. Seahawks are no ball of fire, but can handle this crew. Take Seattle and give 3.

Patriots 31, Chargers 17: Patriots had war with Chiefs. Don’t expect that kind of game here. San Diego RB LaDanian Tomlinson doubtful for this affair. Chargers see unbeaten season end. Patriots —3 is easy.

Broncos 24, Ravens 3: Puzzled how the Ravens will score. Should be interesting to see the effort. Ravens D keeps them in the game for a half. After that, it’s all Denver. Don’t want Baltimore. Give the points.
