Plenty of tricks and treats in the bag

We’ve found a mess of new specials and deals for doing Vegas “On the Cheap” this week, so let’s get at it!

New York, New York has a Halloween special this month for Nevada residents. Get 2-for-1 tickets to “BOO!” with a valid Nevada ID or a military ID.  The twofer deal includes two ride tickets for the Manhattan Express roller coaster ride too. Total cost for two is $29.95.

Just got word this week on a huge 14 oz Ham Steak and Eggs special found downtown at Fitzgerald’s. The offer is available late-night, seven days a week from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. in the Shamrock Café. Fitzgerald’s is also promoting a new line-up of excellent free entertainment. The current shows include:

Arian Black’s “Secrets” Magic Show at 3 p.m.

Larry G. Jones “Man of 1002 Voices” Impressionist Show at 5 p.m. Craig Newell’s “Tribute to Elvis” performances at 7 and 9 p.m.

All shows are free with a one drink minimum, ($3 to $5) and show days are Thursday through Monday in the Events Center on the second floor. Michael Lee performs musical variety on the first floor stage from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on the same days. There’s no cover for his show either!

A Nevada residents discount is available for the “Faberge, Treasures from the Kremlin,” exhibit at the Bellagio. Regular admission is $15, but Nevada locals with proper ID get in for $12. The exhibition is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and runs through January 26, 2003. Don’t miss stopping by the Conservatory when you visit Bellagio too. It’s beautifully decorated for fall right now with mums, pumpkins and a giant cornucopia. Free for all to see and enjoy, 24 hours a day!

The Four Queens downtown has raised the price of their Prime Rib special in Magnolia’s Veranda Coffee Shop by a buck, but it’s still a cheap favorite at $7.95. The complete dinner is available every evening from 4 p.m. to midnight. No coupon necessary, although they pass out a sheet of coupons at the entrances to the hotel that have a few other specials on them, like a $1.49 Shrimp Cocktail or a 14 oz draft beer.

Palace Station is still offering half price tickets to their midnight comedy shows at Gabe Kaplan’s Laugh Trax. The midnight shows are held on Fridays and Saturdays. Regular ticket price is $12.95, so hit it at midnight and get your tickets for $6.50. Cheap date. Good time. Lots of laughs.

The Westward Ho has 99¡ Shrimp Cocktail or Strawberry Shortcake available at the Snack Bar Deli, but they have raised the price on their mega-hot dog from 99¡ to $1.50. A 50% increase! Outrageous!

That’s it for this week! Until next time, eat well, play well, stay well!”
