SANTA ANITA:

FREE QUESTION: Ran a big race but her number was taken down for alleged interference in deep stretch. Another bad takedown with the stewards’ whipping boy Pat Valenzuela again the recipient. Bet this girl with much confidence in next going long on the turf. $$$.

FLEETSTREET DANCER: Got stuck on the rail with no place to make his run. Waited off heels on the turn and surged to victory once clear. Repeat on the horizon at another big price.

JUAN: Long shot special is sitting on a big effort at a BIG price. $$$.

LIFE ESTATE: (5-star) Hopped at the start. Went between horses and had to go to the inside part of the track, which was not the place to be. Ran huge to be second. Bet with much confidence in next.

POLY OLE: Came out of the dead one slot and had no chance. Will make amends with better post in next.

JETTERBUG JAN: Was best in last but got DQ for interference in deep stretch. The horse on the front end was tiring and had no chance for the win but the stews again took PV’s number down. All I can say is that it’s pretty sad! Jan will get the money in next in spite of stewards.

GOLDEN CORTEZ: Steadied off heels early to be far back. Tried to rally up rail but had too much to do. Redemption time in next at a fair price.

COMPANY OF MARY: Dueled outside the winner throughout. Was brushed and bumped off stride in deep stretch and could not match strides with the winner late. Ran a very game second without an inquiry. D Flores rode the victor with the same infraction but no PV this time. Mary will get the dough in next wire to wire!

BAY MEADOWS:

GARS MAM: Was boxed from the inside into the second turn. Had to angle out for room and closed with determination for the win. Cheap horse is very good right now and should hold together for the hat trick on the move up.

CONFESS: Crowded at the start, was boxed directly behind a wall of horses into the stretch. Once clear rallied for second, losing by half a length. No mistakes in next with a clear trip.

TIGER SLEW: Broke awkwardly and was no factor. Jock just let him run around the course in a lackluster effort. Disregard and look for the guy at a price in a quick return.

PARTY MODE: Was making a nice move but flattened out in the stretch. Will be ready to follow through next time.

AQUEDUCT:

SAMMY MOONAMMY: Was bumped hard at the start and taken far back early. Really got in gear coming for home and almost got there. Lost a three horse photo. This girl will be a live item in next. $$$.

DASSLING SPIRIT: Was between horses in the stretch and got a little intimidated. Still ran a very courageous race to gain show dough. Bet this guy with gusto when he shows his face at the Big “A”.

FOREIGN SECRETARY: Stumbled badly at the start. Went to the rail and put in a big run but could not finish. Look for a clean break in next and a wire job.

ARLINGTON PARK:

IVAN JAY PERRY: (5-star) Broke dead last. Was making a big move in the stretch but had no place to go. Once clear, this guy closed like a freight train. Send it in next time going long on the turf.

EL PORTAL: Moved up inside on the turn after breaking last. Waited for room in the stretch, split horses late and rallied for a desperate decision. Will move up and score again at another nice price. The longer the better.
