American Superstars adds ZZ Top tribute

   American Superstars at Stratosphere Hotel & Tower, are adding a new ZZ Top Tribute Act.

   Starring in the tribute act is guitar player Kevin Curry, portraying Billy Gibbons, base player Dan Stover portraying Dusty Hill, and drum player Craig Aaron Small portraying Frank Beard.

   Curry has performed with such musicians as TOTO, Ugly Kid Joe and Yes. He has also performed on such soundtracks and music scores for Corona, MCI, Nike, Saturn, and Wells Fargo commercials.

   Stover, a 12-year veteran of music and founder of ”˜Permanent Wave,’ a highly successful tribute band to the legendary rock-n-roll band RUSH, has also performed with such local bands as Yellow Brick Road.

   Small has been playing the drums professionally since age 18, and has been part of the opening bands for such musicians like Merle Haggard, Tim McGraw, Rick Trevino and Colin Raye.

   “When I met these guys I was blown away by their sound and portrayal,” said Mark Callas, producer of American Superstars. “Once we paired them with the provocative choreography of the Superstars Dancers, we knew we had a winner.”
