John “Jackie Jr.” Gaughan, the son of Las Vegas gaming pioneer Jackie Gaughan, died November 10, 2002. He was 55 years old and would have turned 56 on Nov. 24.
Mr. Gaughan is survived by his wife, Tina; sons John, 20, and Billy, 17, and daughter Kelli, 15; his father, Jackie, and brother, Michael.
According to friends, Mr. Gaughan served in the Air Force in Thailand during the Vietnam war.
He later worked in the Las Vegas gaming industry as a shift boss and casino manager for his father and brother before relocating to San Diego several years ago.
But, according to friends, Mr. Gaughan missed Las Vegas and returned.
