Patriots rebound, but won’t cover

Nov 19, 2002 4:07 AM

Games for week ending Monday, Nov. 25

Patriots 23, Vikings 20: Game very important to Pats, who are in a dogfight with a trio of division opponents. Vikings playing loose, easy and confident after upsetting Green Bay. VIKINGS (+10).

Titans 20, Ravens 16: Tennessee smells playoff possibilities, while the odor in Baltimore isn’t as good. The Ravens offense is the smell. Dead even game. TITANS.

Falcons 24, Panthers 12: Carolina offense is missing, however it’s the kind of game where that unit could show up and bite the favorite where it hurts. Falcons are flying and have enough to lay the points on the road. FALCONS (-4).

Bears 20, Lions 13: Chicago, coming off bye week and Monday nighter, should have enough to handle young Lions. BEARS (-3).

Jaguars 24, Cowboys 7: The soft schedule helps Jacksonville and its playoff chances. Cowboys in trouble with their offense. JAGUARS (-3).

Chargers 24, Dolphins 20: San Diego won a thriller over the 49ers, but the Dolphins will also be difficult. Miami is getting comfortable with Ray Lucas at QB. Chargers will go all-out in playoff run. CHARGERS (+3).

Browns at Saints: Not sure what to make of this one. Will pass.

Jets 27, Bills 17: If this were a road game instead of home, Jets would romp. It’s a key game for both teams. Going with the hot team. JETS (-3).

Steelers 20, Bengals 19: Pittsburgh minus Tommy Maddux could be up against it. But, having Kordel Stewart may be enough to win. The points, though, favor Cincinnati. BENGALS (+10).

Bucs 20, Packers 13: Green Bay stumbled at the Metrodome against the Vikes. More of the same here. Bucs riding crest of the wave. BUCS (-3).

Chiefs 24, Seahawks 13: Seattle just another team without an offense. That’s not a problem with Kansas City. In Seattle, this looks like a dead even game. CHIEFS.

Raiders 31, Cards 10: The Cardinals are a disappointment. Raiders are on top of their game after ending their losing streak. Lay the points. RAIDERS (-7).

Rams 27, Redskins 13: St. Louis should have Kurt Warner back, which is bad news for the NFL, starting with Washington. RAMS (-4).

Giants 17, Texans 16: The Giants playing in soft division and are taking advantage of lollipops on way to playoffs. Texans could be tougher than expected. TEXANS (+6).

Broncos 24, Colts 20: Denver QB Brian Griese is doubtful, but no dropoff with Beuerlein. Colts defense improving and the offense can score enough to pull the upset. We like the points. COLTS (+7).

Niners 24, Eagles 12: Philadelphia minus McNabb at QB may be up against it. Not the right team to open against. NINERS (-5).

   Last week: 8-8
