Blue Note tribute to Old Blue Eyes

Dec 10, 2002 12:01 AM

In honor of Las Vegas’ legendary favorite son, the late Frank Sinatra, the Blue Note Jazz Club next to the Aladdin will feature a special birthday celebration, this week through Saturday.

Among the special guests to participate in the festivities are Betsyann Faiella with special guests Dennis Bono, Frankie Randell, Leena Prima and Bob Anderson.

In celebration of Sinatra’s birthday, Dec. 12, 1915, the Blue Note Jazz Club welcomes Betsyann Faiella as she captivates the audience with her feminine and stunning rendition of Frank Sinatra.

In Faiella’s album, Can I be Frank (2001), a tribute to Sinatra, she takes a direct, yet relaxed approach to the music of one of this country’s greatest entertainers. Her unique fresh style merges with Sinatra’s music to create a new attitude.

There is also a good sampling of Sinatra classics including a nicely paced "I’ve Got You Under My Skin" "All the Way" and one of the most favored tracks "Only the Lonely."

The Salute to Sinatra Celebration will be held nightly at 8 p.m. (through Saturday). Admission is $20.
