Raiders will enjoy Miami heat

Dec 10, 2002 2:05 AM

We are focused on the NFL this week, while we prepare for the college football bowl season.

NFL

Sunday, Dec. 15

RAIDERS (—2) at Dolphins: Both teams trying to win their division. Looks like a hard fought battle down to the final gun. Have to take any points available with the Raiders.

FALCONS (—10) vs Seahawks: Falcons, trying to stay with Tampa Bay and Saints, will take no prisoners. Should overwhelm these guys at home.

BILLS (—3) vs Chargers: Buffalo has a lot going for itself such as cold weather and the constant possibility of snow. Don’t think San Diego will appreciate it, Miami sure didn’t care for it. Double the bet if it’s going to be real cold.

JETS (—3) at Bears: Jets trying to keep their hopes alive. Bears season is all but over.

BENGALS (+3) vs Jaguars: Cincy playing hard every week still finding that elusive win. Maybe, this could be the week.

COLTS (pick) at Browns: Indy trying to win its division. Browns trying to keep its hopes alive. Favor Colts in this spot plus any available points.

BUCS (—8) at Lions: Just want no part of Lions anymore, even at home. TB in dogfight for the division and should be well focused to stop Detroit cold. Lay the wood.

RAVENS (—2) at Texans: Baltimore just ekes wins out. This should be one of those close games until the Ravens find a way to pull it out. Ravens need win to stay within reach of Steelers. Lay the small number and hope the breaks go your way.

SAINTS (—7) vs Vikings: Just love New Orleans against the no heart Vikes. Saints cover in what should be a high scoring affair.

EAGLES (—8) vs Redskins: Eagles don’t seem to care who is playing QB. The "D" just takes over. Look for Philly defense to control tempo here and get the cover, in what may be a low scoring game.

PANTHERS (+8) at Steelers: Points look awfully good here. Carolina defense is playing super. Steelers will find a win hard to come by. Panthers "D" forces Kordell into a few mistakes and earns the cover.

CHIEFS (+4) at Broncos: KC will go all-out here and handle the hostile atmosphere. Must take the points.

49ERS (—3) vs Packers: This looks like a playoff game for FOX and will be at that level. San Fran gets win and cover for home fans.

GIANTS (—3) vs Cowboys: NY trying to stay alive in Wild Card fight. Giants beat Cowboys at Dallas in first meeting, 21-17. Lay the number as NY gets the job done.

RAMS (—7) vs Cardinals: Rams handled the Cardinals at Arizona and should do it again Sunday night on ESPN. Perhaps, a blowout.

Monday, Dec. 16

PATRIOTS (+2) at Titans: Mr. Brady and his bunch perform at their best in front of national audiences. New England crushed Steelers on Monday night during the season. Brady will pick apart Tennessee defense as Pats get needed victory. $$$.

Last week: 1-4

Season: 34-29-4
