Horses to Watch

HOLLYWOOD PARK

SEATTLE SPECTACULAR: Jockey rode this horse like he was on Seattle Slew. Was too confident and got beat at the wire. No mistakes in next.

JINK WILLIAMS: Was off awkwardly and very wide entire trip or would have got there. Got beat a neck but should break through in next.

LUNARCO: Out of the same race as Jink. Also had an eventful trip as he hopped at the start and lost position. Will be sitting on a big effort upon return.

BRILLIANT MOVE: Broke awkwardly and started last. Pulled his way up the rail but had to wait for room nearing the stretch. Angled out and was coming fastest. Next time will be the charm for this 2-year-old at a price. $$$.

SLIPPERY WHEN BET: Stalked the pace between horses. Had to be steadied hard when in tight, but made a good run at the end to finish less than a length behind in third. Will probably see this guy at Santa Anita in early January. Bet with confidence and start the New Year with a winner.

MATT E CAT: Was a very live first time starter but had no chance against the winner but did bury the rest of the 11-horse field with ease. Look for move up and score.

SMART LACY: Off slow then clipped heels when squeezed in the opening strides and dropped to last, made huge run in the stretch but just missed and came back bleeding from the left fore. Injury didn’t look serious and if this girl returns at Santa Anita you can bet with both hands. $$$.

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

GHOSTLY MOON: Well meant first time starter got whacked by a So. Cal shipper, but ran second in top effort. Gets the money in next at a short price. $$$

HUGGY BOY: Was making his move into the lane when caught directly behind wall of horses. Squeezed out at the sixteenth pole then responded and got up in the final strides. Can repeat at another big price.

MONSAJEM: Just couldn’t get untracked and ran last. Need to forgive that effort and bet in next going long on the turf. Long shot special.

MIST OF THE EMPIRE: Was caught in heavy traffic but when clear ran on in a game effort. Will be very live in next.

LUCKY SABRE: My namesake was unlucky in last when jock got his whip tangled all over my horses face. Lucky got intimidated, but still ran on to get beat a head. Sabre will get the cash in next.

FARMAS DREAM: Was a best bet in Horses to Watch a few weeks ago and returned to win, paying $11.00 in a very troubled effort. This guy is really turning into a turf specialist. Should move up and score again.

KISSING GIRL: This girl was also in Horses To Watch a few weeks ago. Ran a huge race only to get beat a nostril in a very troubled trip. Just sitting on a win with a clean trip.

AQUEDUCT

CHERRY PEPPERS: Was steadied at the start and away last in a 12-horse field. Showed determination to run on for second. $$$.

DUSTING OF POWDER: Lacked room behind horses through the turn. Eased out and closed with good energy to run fourth. Look for stretch out and a win.

JUST GABI: Coming off a troubled effort and sitting on a win. $$$.

PERSONAL REWARD: Got beat in a three-horse photo. Will turn tables in next.

LIVING SINGLE: First time starter was well baked in last. Ran third in a troubled trip. Clear sailing will get him home in next outing.

HAWTHORNE PARK

CHICAGO ROCK: Left in last but ran second. Will rock in next for easy win.
