I Love Lucy’s slots!

Bringing belly laughs to all, jackpots and bonus rounds to some players and big bucks to a few, the world's favorite redhead makes her slot machine debut at Bally's Las Vegas on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

I Love Lucy Slots, the newest MegaJackpots theme from slot maker IGT, can only be played in Nevada at Park Place Entertainment's casinos from the middle of December to the end of the year; in early 2003, the games will be more widely available throughout the state.

The slot tradition of a ceremonial "first-pull" took place at Bally's Las Vegas on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. The honors will be performed by Suzanne LaRusch, a Los Angeles actress and the "officially" sanctioned Lucy Ricardo impersonator, along with Ken Geiger, Bally's vice president of slot operations.

"Just as Lucy appealed to everyone, we've tried to design her slot theme to have universal appeal," said John Sears, vice president of MegaJackpots for IGT. "I Love Lucy Slots are available in a spinning reel and a video slot version, with both sharing the same MegaJackpots Instant Winner award that starts at $300,000." Furthermore, players will be able to play a nickel, quarter or dollar machine, all on the same progressive link.

The 12-line nickel I Love Lucy Video Slots feature a bonus round built upon one of the most hilarious sit-com episodes of all time: the riotous scene with Lucy and Ethel as chocolate factory workers. Using actual video clips from the television classic, players' bonus points depend on Lucy snatching chocolates from the ever-faster conveyer belt. There is also a Classic Moments bonus in which the player gets to choose a symbol that will activate the accompanying film clip.

The three-reel spinning slot version features a custom Lucy topbox on a popular base game such as Triple Lucky 7s or Double Diamond. When an I Love Lucy heart symbol lands on the third-reel payline with max coins wagered, players are treated to the Vitameatavegamin bonus round, based on the episode where Lucy takes on the intoxicating role of TV pitchman. And, of course, when three Lucy symbols line up on the third payline with max coins wagered, the lucky player takes home the top prize of at least $300,000 (once the jackpot is verified.)

Park Place Entertainment casinos where I Love Lucy Slots can be played include Bally's Las Vegas, Paris, Caesars Palace, Flamingo Las Vegas, Las Vegas Hilton and O'Shea's Casino, all in Las Vegas. Elsewhere in Nevada, the games can be played at Reno Hilton, Caesars Tahoe, and Flamingo Laughlin.

Developed under license from CBS Broadcasting Inc., Desilu, too, LLC and Unforgettable Licensing, the game joins 20 other Nevada MegaJackpots systems developed and operated by IGT, a subsidiary of International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT), a world leader in the manufacturing of gaming machines and proprietary software for progressive gaming systems. The MegaJackpots Instant Winner award requires a maximum wager and is paid upon verification of the jackpot.
