J-E-T-S on money line stuns Patriots

Tuesday, Dec. 17

New Orleans Bowl

NORTH TEXAS (+8) over Cincinnati (47): These early bowl games seem to bring out the best in the lesser opponent. Cincy has played the tougher schedule and almost knocked off Ohio State (lost 23-19). The Mean Green can play some "D" and should be able to stay close in an inspired effort to prove they belong. Can’t see Bearcats getting up for this game after a few nights on Bourbon Street.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

GMAC Bowl

MARSHALL (—3) over Louisville (61): Marshall’s is a solid 4-1 in the last five bowl contests. Louisville is just the opposite, going 1-3 the last four bowls. Louisville put a big damper on its season with a no-show effort in a loss to Cincinnati in the final regular season game. Take Marshall in what should be a high scoring game behind their super QB Byron Leftwich.

Monday, Dec. 23

Tangerine Bowl

TEXAS TECH (—6) over Clemson (65): Both teams can light up the scoreboard as the total on his game indicates. Tech has really played some big time games in beating A&M on the Aggies home field, along with Oklahoma State and Texas back to back. If the blowout loss to Oklahoma didn’t take the heart out of the Red Raiders, they should cover against the Tigers in a very high scoring game.

NFL

Saturday, Dec. 21

DOLPHINS (—3) at Vikings: Miami needs to win to keep pace.

CARDINALS (+7) vs. 49ers: Arizona was able to stay close at San Fran and should stay within the point spread here.

EAGLES (—6) at Cowboys: Can’t get off Philly bandwagon. Eagles and under as Cowboys play their hearts out.

Sunday, Dec. 22

BILLS (+7) at Packers: The cold won’t bother Buffalo and the Pack is ripe for the upset.

FALCONS (—11) vs Lions: Just can’t support Detroit.

BEARS (+3) at Panthers: This will be a game for pride.

SAINTS (-7) at Bengals: Cincy is playing well and has stayed in every game till the end. The Saints need to keep winning and will be focused here.

GIANTS (+5) at Colts: Both teams need the victory. Giants will stay close and the points look like the way to go here.

TITANS (—2) vs Jaguars: Tennessee handled Jags at home and in need-to-win situation.

CHIEFS (-3) vs Chargers: KC lost at San Diego earlier in the year, 35-34. Looks like payback time in big game for both. Sellout crowd gets Chiefs fired up for the big win. $$$.

REDSKINS (-6) vs. Texans: Houston needs every break and a lot of mirrors to get job done. Won’t happen here.

SEAHAWKS (+1) vs. Rams: Seahawks got hammered at St. Louis, 37-20. Will get some revenge here as the Rams season is all but over.

BRONCOS (+4) over Raiders: The Raiders buried Denver earlier, 34-10. Denver gets revenge.

RAVENS (-3) vs Browns: Big game for both. Home field is the deciding factor in equal matchup. Look for Ravens to pull it out in a hard-fought game.

JETS (+4) at Patriots: New England destroyed NYJ in the second game of the season, 44-7. This a different Jets team this time around. Look for huge effort here by the Jets. Money line bet. $$$.

Monday, Dec. 23

BUCS (-5) vs Steelers. Want no part of team that couldn’t handle Texans at home in must win situation. Tampa in a rout.
