Philly could be in for Giant surprise

NFL

   Saturday, Dec. 28

GIANTS (+pts) vs Eagles: The Eagles beat NYG at Philly in hard-fought 17-3 final. Giants get revenge in what should be another low scoring game.

RAIDERS (-pts) vs. Chiefs: The Chiefs caught Oakland in perfect spot in earlier matchup and won 20-10. The reverse should occur here, as Raiders get primed for their Super Bowl run.

   Sunday, Dec. 29

PATS (-pts) vs Dolphins: Double play here as Pats, in must-win situation, get revenge after 26-13 loss at Miami. Pats get the money at home. $$$.

REDSKINS (-pts) vs Cowboys: Meaningless game must favor Skins to even score as Pokes whipped them in Dallas, 27-20.

BROWNS (pick) vs Falcons: Must go with dawg boys at home in season final.

LIONS (+pts) vs Vikings: Detroit played one of their better games against Vikes at Minnie but got beat 31-24, will try to end season on a winning note.

TITANS (-pts) at Houston: Tennessee was pushed hard in first meeting just to squeeze a 17-10 win at home. Titans, just trying to stay alive, will be all-out for the win.

SAINTS (-pts) vs Panthers: Helter-skelter New Orleans handled the Panthers earlier at Carolina, 34-24. Expect a similar effort here.

STEELERS (-pts) vs Ravens: Pittsburgh puts finishing touches on a very weird season and moves on to the playoffs where they should get eliminated early.

COLTS (-pts) vs Jaguars: Indy beat Jags at Jacksonville earlier 28-25. See the same here in another high scoring game as Colts roll to the playoffs.

JETS (-pts) vs Packers: The Jets roll in game that Pack may have lack of interest.

BRONCOS (-pts) vs Cards: Gotta lay the wood here.

SEAHAWKS (+pts) at Chargers: Too many points, take the short.

BEARS (+pts) vs Bucs: Must go with the well-documented cold factor here. Check temperature before game time. If it’s in the 30s or colder bet Bears.

   Monday, Dec. 30

49ERS (-pts) at Rams: San Francisco got hammered at home by Rams, 37-13. Niners return favor here.

   Last week: 0-0

   Season: 0-0

COLLEGE BOWL GAMES

   Wednesday, Dec. 25

NEW MEXICO (+10½) vs UCLA: Two months ago UCLA probably would have crushed NM, but may not have that motivation here. Must take the points.

TULANE (+13) vs Hawaii: Christmas in Hawaii is a nice holiday gift for Tulane. Rainbows have had hard time covering big spreads. Tulane hangs tough for cover, than off to the beach.

   Thursday, Dec. 26

TOLEDO (+5) vs. BC: Toledo stepping up in class here but may not know it. Will put forth top effort for the upset. Money line.

OREGON ST. (-1½) vs Pittsburgh: Should be a hard-fought game, State may have a little too much “O” for the Panthers to handle. Lay the small number.

   Friday, Dec. 27

OKLAHOMA ST. (-6½) vs So. Miss: Think the number is a tad high, but just can’t go against a team that crushed Sooners and made it look easy. OSU finishes season on a very high note, but don’t lay more than 7.

MISSISSIPPI (+4½) vs Nebraska: If you are going to bet this game, take the points. Not too enthralled here.

ARIZONA ST. (+17½) vs Kansas St.: Can’t lay it, so I’ll take it.

   Saturday, Dec. 28

VIRGINIA (+5) vs. W. Virginia: Both teams playing good football and happy to be in this game. Virginia has shown an ability to come back if behind, something WVU may not be able to do. Points look good in hard-fought game.

COLORADO (-7½) vs. Wisconsin: The entire world is on Wisky, but favor more potent Buffaloes.

   Monday, Dec. 30

ARKANSAS (-8) vs Minnesota: The Hogs are off a 30-3 thrashing against Georgia. The Gophers have dropped their last four games by scores of 34-3, 41-24, 45-21 and 49-31. How does Minny make a bowl? I just won’t bet my money on that kind of team. Lay the number with the Razorbacks.

OREGON (-6½) vs Wake Forest: Oregon just the better team here. Lay the points.

   Tuesday, Dec. 31

IOWA ST. (+11½) vs Boise St.: Boise just unbeatable on blue carpet, but way too many points here against hardened Iowa St. The Cyclones have played the much superior schedule. Must take the points in a very high scoring game. Over 80 any one?

WASHINGTON (-3½) vs. Purdue: Huskies finished season on a very high note with wins over Oregon St., Oregon and Washington St. All three are going to bowls. This may be one of the better bets. $$$.

TCU (+5½) vs. Colorado St.: Really don’t like this game very much. Was big State fan until their season-ending loss at home against UNLV. Take the points in what should be a close game.

FRESNO ST. (+3½) vs Georgia Tech: Bulldog offense should be too much for Tech to handle.

MARYLAND (pick) vs Tennessee: Volunteers having a hard time scoring points. Must go with the better “O” here. If Maryland can get an early lead, its doubtful Tennessee can come back.

AIR FORCE (+11½) vs VA Tech: Points look good here. Depend on the Force for a top effort. Game may be a letdown for VT.
