Saturday, Jan. 11

Falcons 20, Eagles 17: The Eagles are making a mistake starting Donovan McNabb at QB after being sidelined five weeks and coming in off the cold weather of Philadelphia. The Falcons got over a big hurdle defeating the Packers in Green Bay. Whipping the Eagles in Philly will be a pleasure. ATLANTA (+7½).

49ers 23, Bucs 13: No punch offense versus a high-powered offense favors the Niners. San Francisco made the second biggest comeback in NFL history, rallying from 24 points down to beat the Giants 39-38. The Niners have to be sky high, though they also have to travel cross country to Miami. Yes, Miami. The 49ers won’t need a plane to get to Tampa. Euphoria will do the job. SAN FRANCISCO (+5).

Sunday, Jan. 12

Steelers 27, Titans 24: Pittsburgh engineered a sensational comeback against Cleveland, beating the Browns by three points for the third time this year. Favor the team that has a playoff game under its belt. The bye week won’t help Tennessee in this case. PITTSBURGH (+4).

Jets 34, Raiders 20: The Jets are the best balanced team in the playoffs and have the hot hand at quarterback. The defense is on a roll, allowing only one fourth-quarter touchdown in the last 10 games. QB Chad Pennington has the golden touch of Joe Montana, combined with the 1-2 punch of RBs Curtis Martin and Lamont Jordan. Bet money line. JETS (+5½).
