The Nevada Megabucks slot jackpot is currently over $26 million — the third-highest total in its history — and it continues to climb!
Megabucks was last hit in Nevada on May 27, 2002, when it served up a $22.6 million MegaJackpot to Johanna Heundl at Bally’s on the Las Vegas Strip.
The current Megabucks jackpot threatens to overtake history’s second-largest slot jackpot, a $27.5 million Megabucks payout at Palace Station in Las Vegas on Nov. 15, 1998.
The world’s largest slot jackpot still stands at $34.9 million, won on a Megabucks machine on Jan. 26, 2000 at the old Desert Inn in Las Vegas.
"Excitement runs extremely high among casino players when the Megabucks jackpot reaches this level," said John Sears, vice president of MegaJackpots for IGT. "We love breaking our own slot payout records. Who knows how high Megabucks will go this time?"
Nevada Megabucks was launched in March 1986 and has produced 57 major winners since then, whose combined winnings exceed $386 million. Megabucks connects 670 slot machines in 158 Nevada casinos to a top jackpot that builds from a base amount of $7 million. The top jackpot is paid in annual installments.
